Michael Geier, Jupiter Power’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), boasts over a decade of experience in the battery storage industry, spanning various domains such as Research and Development, manufacturing, utility-scale project development, construction, operation, and wholesale market participation. Geier has spearheaded developing, engineering, and contracting over 12 GWh of energy storage projects across North America.
Geier’s first role in the storage sector began with Invenergy’s storage engineering team in 2016. Geier then transitioned to E.ON, departing in 2019 as their Energy Storage Technical Team Lead. He began his new role with Jupiter in 2020, initially as Director of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) before being promoted to CTO in 2021.
Geier’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 2008, followed by a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from Northwestern University in 2016.
